Across the Peak Podcast with Rich & Justin

Across The Peak

Hey guys, I just wanted to take a quick minute and give you a heads up about my new blog and podcast: Across The Peak. Rich Brown (from the American Warrior Show) and I have been working on this project for almost six months and it is finally live!

Across The Peak Podcast

Across The Peak isn’t a gun-specific podcast but a lot of you guys will probably enjoy a lot of the content. Across The Peak is a generalist’s show. In the first 10 episodes alone Rich and I talk about how to change a tire, cognitive biases you should know and recognize, how to get a good night’s sleep, our EDC items, and how to train a dog. The show will run explore a wide range of topics and is intended to make you smarter, safer, and more resilient.

One word of caution: the show does feature explicit language, so if you’re offended by certain arrangements of certain phonemes, it’s probably not for you.

We have released the first five episodes and will release a new show every Wednesday. Currently you can subscribe on iTunes or listen on Soundcloud (Google Play, Spotify, and YouTube are coming soon!). Also be sure to check out our blog at https://acrossthepeak.com. We have put a ton of time into creating good, informative show notes and we’re proud of them. We also have a lot of additional content coming soon, so check it out.

Be safe. And if you can’t be safe. . .be dangerous!

  1. The range of topics so far, and the emphasis on ‘generalist’ knowledge, have piqued my curiosity.

Subscribed, and thanks for putting this out there, Justin & Rich.

    1. Thanks Hammer – much appreciated! There’s a lot more coming – we already have a bunch of episodes recorded and in the hopper!

      1. Ok, I’ve finally found time to listen to the first couple episodes – a great combination of heady topics discussed in a down-to-earth way, combined with no-BS practical knowledge. This is a refreshing perspective for those of us tired of many of the attitudes that are on display in the ‘neo-tactical/survivalist’ platforms. Thanks for bringing the hyperbole down a notch (or in some cases, many notches) and keeping it real. Looking forward to listening to more soon…

        1. Many thanks, Hammer – we’re lad you’re enjoying it! We wanted to split the difference between all these different, competing disciplines: preparedness, self-defense, physical fitness, financial preparedness, etc. Again, glad you’re enjoying it!

  2. Very cool, Justin! I’m in.

Most books, most web sites, most pod casts, most YouTube channels… indeed, most everything… is subject specific. You go to those places and you engage with the people there because of something particular. Alas, inevitably we end up stereotyping and, in turn, ourselves being stereotyped.

The real world is a lot more complex, of course. Thank God. One hopes there still remains a place for renaissance men.

The Heinlein quote towards the end of the first episode perfectly encapsulates much about how modern man ought to comport himself. Were that it were so. Modern man – and our American version, in particular – is a much-neutered version of them that went before. The emasculation of the American male continues, apace.

Perhaps ACROSS THE PEAK can add one more small finger to the dyke protesting that unfortunate reality.
