What is The Best Revolver Speedloader?

We have been reviewing – or at least examining – speedloaders here since RevolverGuy’s very beginning. I will admit that a lot of our speedloader reviews have been shaped by my personal preferences and bias. Today I’m going to attempt to add some objectivity to the question, “what is the best revolver speedloader?” Continue reading “What is The Best Revolver Speedloader?”

Bowen Rough Country Revolver Sights

The Bowen Rough Country rear sight is a well-known upgrade among revolver enthusiasts. Several months ago I reached out to Hamilton Bowen to request a set of these sights for review. He obliged, but through a mailing SNAFU (that was completely my fault) I didn’t receive them for several months. Continue reading “Bowen Rough Country Revolver Sights”

Crimson Trace Lasergrips For Revolvers

In the run-up to the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, Southern California police agencies were busy getting ready for an invasion of tourists . . . and possibly, an invasion of well-armed terrorists. The cops in the Golden State were determined that the failures of the 1972 Munich Olympics would not be repeated on their turf, so they were eager to upgrade their counterterrorism capabilities. Precision Holsters Tactical Concealed Carry Nylon Belt

When I find something I really like – something like a knife, watch, wallet, or belt  – I can get pretty resistant to change. When something like this comes along that really works, I will use it until it just won’t work anymore. Once up on a time I found a belt that works for me and I wore it for about a dozen years. I was recently provided a Precision Holsters Tactical Conceal Carry Nylon Belt, and even though my old one is still going strong, I’m rethinking my belt choices! The NeoMag RASC Speed Strip Carrier

Though things move a little slower here in revolver land than they do in the bottom feeder world, new products are constantly coming and going. Many of them are updates or retreads of existing designs. Occasionally, though, something comes along for RevolverGuys that represents a brand new idea. The NeoMag RASC is one such product. The Aker Model 160A IWB Holster

I didn’t want to like this holster.

It wasn’t a question of workmanship or materials. It was obvious from the start that this holster was made of good stuff and had been assembled with care and attention to detail. This was not one of those holsters (and there are many out there) that missed its calling as a chew toy for a large dog. Continue reading “The Aker Model 160A IWB Holster”

A RevolverGuy’s Perspective on Pepper Spray

I recently purchased a can of pepper spray for my girlfriend. I decided to grab an extra can and carry it myself. I’ve known I should be carrying a non-lethal option for years. . . but I haven’t. Like most of the firearms industry I’ve overlooked this important facet of comprehensive self-defense. In the past couple of months I’ve really come to appreciate the benefits pepper spray brings to the table. Continue reading “A RevolverGuy’s Perspective on Pepper Spray”

The Pachmayr Aluminum Competition Speedloader

It has been quite some time since I’ve written about a new speedloader. I thought I’d just about covered everything that’s out there on the market. Turns out there are a couple of new products popping up. Today I’m going to talk about the new Pachmayr Aluminum Competition Speedloader.
