Field Report: The New Colt King Cobra

Revolvers hailing from Colt’s Manufacturing Company are a class of firearm for which I’ve traditionally exhibited only the faintest interest. It’s not because they aren’t fantastic guns; To the contrary, it may be because they’re too fantastic! Since going out of production, Colt’s revolvers have become collectable and priced well outside my reach. With Colt’s re-entrance into the revolver market, wheelguns bearing the Rampant Colt Pony are once again on dealer shelves. Colt’s was kind enough to loan us one, and this Field Report will detail my experiences with the new Colt King Cobra. Continue reading “Field Report: The New Colt King Cobra”

Field Report Testing Standard Operating Procedure

Good news, guys: it’s raining guns on us here at RevolverGuy! Thanks to Mike’s hard work at SHOT (and since) I’ve two revolvers sitting here awaiting review, and another on the way. We’ve come a long way since the first T&E gun I was lucky enough to receive. With all these new guns coming in, we have worked to develop a Revolver Testing Standard Operating Procedure (RT-SOP). Harry’s Holsters’ Icon Revolver Holster

Though (as you guys know) I’m carrying a slab-sided bottom feeder on a daily basis, I haven’t completely ditched my J-Frame. TheĀ  640 Pro gets pulled for those times when I must be 100% positive that my gun concealed. The NeoMag RASC Speed Strip Carrier

Though things move a little slower here in revolver land than they do in the bottom feeder world, new products are constantly coming and going. Many of them are updates or retreads of existing designs. Occasionally, though, something comes along for RevolverGuys that represents a brand new idea. The NeoMag RASC is one such product. Tactical First Aid & System Collapse Medicine with Greg Ellifritz

My girlfriend and I recently had the opportunity to attend Greg Ellifritz’s Tactical First Aid & System Collapse Medicine. As far as I’m concerned this class or one like it is must-have training, whether you’re a RevolverGuy or not. This is an after-action review of the class. Continue reading “Tactical First Aid & System Collapse Medicine with Greg Ellifritz”

RevolverGuy on Gun Talk with Tom Gresham

Yesterday I joined Tom Gresham on my second Gun Talk Radio appearance. Even though the show notes say we talked about my 3,650 minutes of dry practice, we got so excited talking about revolvers we ran out of time before we got to it!

I also appeared on Gun Talk way back in September, 2017.
