I was fortunate to spend the First and Second of October with a great bunch of RevolverGuys (and Gals!) at Range Ready Studios in Robert, Louisiana. We were all there to take part in the “Colt Python Experience,” a combination release party and training event, and I’d like to tell you more about it. Taurus 856 Upgrades
RevolverGuy readers will recall that I had a favorable opinion of the Taurus Model 856 Executive Grade revolver when I reviewed it back in October of last year, but felt the gun could stand some upgrades in critical areas like the grips, sights, and trigger. The gun had good bones, but needed a little bit of help to reach its full potential. Continue reading “Taurus 856 Upgrades”
Using Taurus Model 85 Boot Grips On J-Frames
The search for a good set of J-frame stocks seems like a never-ending journey, and sometimes it leads to some pretty creative solutions. I was recently introduced to one of these, and I’d like to share it with the RevolverGuy audience, because it might just do the trick for some of you. The RevUp Action Hammer
When we ran our 2022 SHOT Show Roundup article, one of the companies we highlighted was RevUp Action, which was promoting a replacement hammer design for Smith & Wesson revolvers, with frame-mounted firing pins, that would dramatically change the double action trigger pull. The idea was very intriguing, so we arranged for RevolverGuy to get a pre-production sample of the RevUp Action hammer for test and evaluation, and we’re now ready to report on our findings. Continue reading “The RevUp Action Hammer”
SK Custom Grips Update

SHOT Show 2022 Roundup
It was a great disappointment when the 2021 SHOT Show was canceled, so I was very eager to travel to Vegas, in mid-January, for the 2022 SHOT Show. I was really looking forward to linking up with all my industry friends, and seeing what the manufacturers had up their sleeves for us RevolverGuys this year. Continue reading “SHOT Show 2022 Roundup”
Hogue Bantam Grip Fix
A few weeks back, I detailed some fixes and modifications I’d been working on for my set of Kimber K6S revolvers. One of these was the addition of a set of Hogue rubber Bantam grips for my three-inch stainless model. Continue reading “Hogue Bantam Grip Fix”
